Dear Parents & Guardians:
We are closely monitoring news about the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak and the recommendation of the local and national health community. Information is changing by the minute. Please note that our number one priority is the health and safety of all we serve, including children, families and our staff members.
We know that many of you are asking if Just 4 Kids Preschool should close for a set or indefinite amount of time due to Coronavirus (COVID-19). Should any of the following scenarios / criteria occur, Just 4 Kids Preschool will suspend operation:
- If any civil authority will require us to close. This can come from the Federal, State, County or City government as well Community Care Licensing Office, who regulates all Child Care and Preschools across California.
- If any staff member, student or a household member of any of our students & staff is identified as a patient under investigation or confirmed case of COVID- 19, we will be suspending operations for a minimum of 1 week or per recommendation of the above-mentioned civil authorities. Suspension of operation will be assessed daily.
In the meantime, as mentioned in my prior letter last week, we are immediately implementing additional measures at Just 4 Kids Preschool. We deeply appreciate the partnership we have with our families, and in that spirit, we want to remind everyone that this is a team effort. We need your help in immediately implementing these additional precautions:
Do Not Come to School if You Are Sick
If your child is showing any possible COVID-19 symptoms (fever, cough, shortness of breath, aches, sore throat, diarrhea), or if you have any of these symptoms, please stay home! We are asking everyone to think of the health of the community as you decide whether to go to places where you are in close contact with others. If your child is sick, stay home. If you are sick, have a healthy adult take them to school. Ideally if there is anyone in your home that is showing symptoms, all should stay home.
Use our Hand Sanitizers
We are requiring EVERYONE ENTERING Just 4 Kids Preschool buildings to use our hand sanitizers. We are adding extra hand-sanitizing stations at each location as soon as we receive delivery of ordered supplies.

All visitors, including families visiting for tours, must use these hand sanitizers when they arrive.
Staff are constantly guiding and reminding students to keep their hands away from their faces, to cough into their elbows and to do a thorough job of washing hands. Please also know that we are drastically increasing our cleaning and sanitization practices. We are hiring an extra temporary staff focused at just doing extra sanitation of our common areas. Our Staff will also take turns at sanitizing surfaces several times a day (this includes the surfaces often forgotten, such as door handles, light switches, phones,handrails, etc.).
What if School Districts Close?
While we do typically follow school districts for decisions such as weather emergency closures & holidays, we do not plan to strictly follow if school districts in the community decide to close. We plan to follow our increased prevention protocols and stay open unless the above-mentioned criteria are met. We want to make sure that we are able to provide service to our families and parents during these instances where it is most needed.
We are creating an emergency plan in case of a mandatory shutdown.
